This fashionable doll-shaped cake by Kitchy TV brings a renowned runway style to the kitchen table. Inspired by one of her favorite designers, the creator and blogger created a dolly cake that is entirely decked out in a wildly patterned bralette and A-line skirt look by Proenza Schouler.
Dolly cakes involve the use of a naked Barbie that is plunged in the middle of a dome-shaped cake. For this look, the creator used sprinkles and coconut shavings to give the skirt the desired texture and pattern. Decorating the cake dome (to achieve the ruffled skirt effect) is easier, but the intricate design of the bralette on such a small doll required more of a steady hand. The creator used a Q-tip and other fine-tipped tools to paint on the straps, as well as hand-pasting one sprinkle at a time to mimic the look on the Proenza Schouler runway collection.
