Fabian Oefner's 'Disintegrating' Series Will Blow Your Mind

'Disintegrating' is a jaw dropping series of photos made by acclaimed Swiss artist Fabian Oefner.

For those car aficionados who are currently undergoing cardiac arrest at the thought of someone blowing up these classic cars in the name of art can rest easy knowing that these are in fact models. Each photo is painstakingly created by first sketching out the explosion giving Fabian a model to work from. Once that is complete he begins dismantling these detailed models of classic cars—"from the body shell to the smallest screws"—and then begins photographing each individual piece in a specific position in order to create the illusion of an exploding car.

Fabian Oefner's body of work is known for slowing things down and photographing moments that are to quick for the human eye to see, it would appear that 'Disintegrating' is a continuation of that work.
