Race Car-Inspired Dynamic Sculptures

Gerry Judah Presents an Artful Sculpture for a Festival

British artist Gerry Judah presents an art sculpture that is detailed with six arms soaring upwards that is complete with classic Porsche models. It was made for the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year and is meant to celebrate the automobile company's 75th anniversary. The sculpture is made from steel and has a dodecahedral core that attaches to three hoops and six straight arms.

Judah explains that the arms and core are meant to "embody a line of speed leading to the cars themselves. The inspiration came from wanting to make a sculpture that would be celebratory. Like setting off fireworks to enhance the joy of the piece." The structure is completely finished in white steel as "white has always been used because of the amazing light which tends to enhance the shape and more so the details," Judah explains.
