The Hass Avocado Board teamed up with the American Diabetes Association to promote diabetes awareness in the Latino community. In the US, the Latino population is disproportionately affected by diabetes. The new campaign uses social media to encourage consumers to take action towards more nutritious eating habits.
The new campaign promotes consumer outreach by publishing educational materials in both English and Spanish. These material promote healthy eating thorugh recipes and nutritional information. In order to reach a broad range of consumers, the campaign relies heavily on social media. Social platforms enable the American Diabetes Association to target Spanish-speaking users who may not otherwise find this information.
Through social media and the use of multi-lingual resources, the American Diabetes Association hopes to educate the Latino Community about Diabetes awareness.
