Taco Bell is currently toying with the idea of adding dessert empanadas and French Toast Dippers to its $1 breakfast value menu. While the chain is largely know for its savory Mexican entrees, the brand may soon be expanding its dessert options to reach a wider range of consumers.
One of the new menu items being developed by Taco Bell is a strawberries and cream empanada called a 'Popanada.' The new dish would be similar to the chain's existing Caramel Apple Empanada, but it would be smaller and filled with a strawberries and cream-flavored mixture instead of apple. In addition to the dessert empanadas, the chain is also developing a dish called French Toast Dippers, which would come with a sweet sauce for dipping.
While there is no word on whether the empanadas and French Toast Dippers are currently being tested, the new dishes do indicate that the brand is looking to expand its existing dessert range.
