The legendary Waldorf Astoria Ballroom was an unusual venue to hold the 6th annual Design Legends Gala. The world of graphic arts and design has changed much in the wake of last year’s financial uncertainty, a development that has threatened the very fabric of this prominent association.
Recreating any interest in design must not have been an easy task in today’s market, which has been plagued by downsizing and cutbacks. Nevertheless, today’s top designers shared their ideas in an upscale class and embraced new opportunities.
AIGA president Debbie Millman was present to honor this year’s highest achievers in the field of graphic arts and design. Well respected industry leaders Pablo Ferro, Doyald Young, and Carin Goldberg were among the night’s award recipients for their roles in design innovation.
