Immersive Desert Botanical Gardens

The Moorten Botanical Garden is Located in Southern California

A family-owned desert botanical garden is a must-visit destination when in Palm Springs, California. Cheerfully described as 'the world's first cactarium,' the greenhouse started off as a hobby that morphed into an independent business. The Moorten Botanical Garden occupies the former residence of silent movie star Chester “Cactus Slim” Moorten and his wife Patricia.

When visiting, the experience consists of over 3000 species of magnificent cacti and succulents. The trail spans for not more than an hour and is a dog-friendly space as long as owners clean up after their pets.

The desert botanical garden does not only offer a sizable exposure to Southern California's flora and fauna. It also provides a space for meditation, as well as an incredible backdrop for some stylish photography.
