Luxury Chronograph Watches

The DEFY Extreme Collection Includes Two New Luxury Chronographs

The DEFY Extreme collection expands Zenith's high-performance watch lineup with the Lapis Lazuli II and Ultraviolet models, each housed in a 45-millimeter case and powered by the El Primero 9004 automatic movement. The Lapis Lazuli II combines forged carbon and titanium with an openworked dial featuring natural lapis lazuli chronograph counters, while the Ultraviolet pairs a matte microblasted titanium case with violet sapphire elements and matching subdials. Both chronographs use a dual-escapement architecture that separates standard timekeeping from the 1/100th-of-a-second chronograph function.

The movement operates at 5 Hz for everyday timekeeping with a 50-hour power reserve, while the dedicated chronograph escapement runs at 360,000 vibrations per hour to measure hundredths of a second. Sapphire crystal casebacks reveal customized star-shaped oscillating weights that match each model's design theme.
