Chevrolet is bringing back the 'Colorado Desert Boss' as a dealer-installed package for the 2027 Colorado ZR2. The package adds off-road hardware and styling cues, including a special front bumper, lighting, and 'Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers.'
The Desert Boss is limited to the Colorado ZR2 and will be sold only through dealers, distinguishing it from the earlier factory-prepped version. It also includes 'Tech Bronze' recovery hooks, door sill plates, and a front-fender decal package, giving buyers a ready-made appearance and hardware bundle without moving into the Bison or Midnight packages.
Offering the Desert Boss as a dealer-installed option gives Chevrolet a flexible way to revive a recognizable off-road package without rebuilding the Colorado lineup around it. Keeping it ZR2-only keeps it aimed at buyers who want a more rugged trim path, while the package format makes the upgrade easy to layer onto existing trucks.
