Amid the rise of immersive theater, Darkfield is distinguishing itself as a different kind of theater company that creates performances that are not meant to be "seen" at all—its plays unfold in complete darkness, with audience members wearing headphones to set the scene with binaural audio.

'Séance' from Darkfield is an intense 15-minute performance that is set in a pitch-black shipping container and "group of people who have been bombarded with suggestible material." Audience members are invited to sit around a table and after the lights are turned off, they will hear a man enter the room, which will only cause one's mind to start spinning with questions. In the preview video for the theatrical experience, there is suggestion that the performance will involve an encounter with spirits from another realm.
