In place of conventional ingredients, Trader Joe’s new dairy-free cheesecakes create the rich taste and smooth texture of cheesecake with ingredients like lima beans, coconut oil, konjac, agave for sweetness and oats, graham flour, and shortening. The vegan-friendly Cheese-Less “Cheesecakes” only need a few hours to thaw from frozen in the fridge and a pack contains two perfectly portioned desserts for sharing.
Even without staple cheesecake ingredients, these dairy-free desserts are said to have a creamy, cheesecake-like mouthfeel and a crumbly crust that's perfect for pairing with fresh berries and a whipped topping.
With the rise of dairy-free frozen desserts and other vegan treats, a wider range of consumers are becoming open to trying plant-based versions of their favorite foods made with alternative ingredients.
