Fabian Oefner's CutUp Series Slices Up Vintage Cameras

Fabian Oefner is an interdisciplinary artist and his most recent work is a brand new series by the name of 'CutUp.' The artwork takes vintage cameras and slices it in pieces to be carefully displayed in a block of resin sculptures, showcasing the inner parts of the gadgets.

Oefner aims to capture the intricate works that go into the devices, placing the sliced technology in clear resin. This method requires a blend described as a "unique mix of high-end and low-end technologies" in order to develop each sculpture. It starts with vacuum and pressure chambers that are able to match certain atmospheric pressure and temperatures. The resin scul[ture are cut up using a band saw and complete with hand polishing.
