Mariam Barrio Designs Natural Themes for Curly Lab's Salon

Barcelona-based Miriam Barrio Studios works on the interior space of Curly Lab, which is a hair salon that features curvaceous designs and copper tones. It takes over a modernist building's base which was designed by Enric Sagnier in 1895. The main theme of the space was to create an organic and natural space, which once functioned as a real estate agency. The salon features light-colored floors that spotlight the terracotta walls.

Barrio explains the design concept, stating "The colour of the original ceiling drawings, they were pure inspiration! A great find and a stroke of luck since there is nothing more natural and special than copper tones. We wanted to choose a colour derived from the tones of the ceiling and make it the protagonist. It needed to be warm and deep at the same time, neither too feminine nor too masculine. Based on that colour, all the materials for the project were chosen."
