It is only natural that the CSIS Global Data Chandelier, which hangs from the ceiling in the lobby of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, would be as informative as it is illuminating. A chic design, it displays global data statistics such as GDP growth rate, renewable water resources and energy consumption while lighting up the atrium as though it were a constellation of stars as well. It even corresponds to events within the building.

Created by Sosolimited, Hypersonic Engineering & Design, Plebian Design, and Chris Parlato, the CSIS Global Data Chandelier is a one of a kind light fixture. The data sets it pulls from the web are updated on an annual or quarterly basis. The entire system is automated, which is completely convenient.
