With the new Corvette Z06 Stingray being shown off some people have forgotten about the new Corvette C7-R race car, but those people will be reminded. The new race car is slim, but intimidating and features everything you look for in a speedster.
The C7-R is the auto equivalent to a big brother for the Z06 and the two share many similarities, such as it’s aluminum frame, cooling ducts and splitters. Where it differs though is in the engine; that’s where big brother takes over. The engine is a burly 5.5 liter V8, the same one it shared with it’s predecessor the C6.
Corvette will have two of these Corvette C7-R’s being fielded this year so we’re excited to see the new car in action on race tracks in the near future.
