Advanced Grocer Shelf Labels

Co-op and VusionGroup Partnered for Smart Shelf Labels

Co-op and VusionGroup have announced a partnership in the UK that will see the grocer replacing its conventional paper shelf edge labels with electronic labels in a bid to help improve the shopping experience. The labels will communicate clear, accurate information to the shopper regarding price, but can also detail allergen information, nutritional facts, country of origin and more. The labels will also eliminate paper labels for a waste-free retail setup, while also helping with inventory management.

Head of Operations Steven Logue at Co-op commented on the Co-op and VusionGroup partnership saying, "With convenience at the heart of everything we do Co-op is committed to continually exploring innovative technology that can improve how we operate. The electronic labels have the potential to enhance product information and transparency, avoid paper waste, and make everyday tasks like picking online orders easier – improving ways of working, supporting our growth ambitions and enhancing the shopping experience for our members and customers.”
