Carrefour and Vusion Loot to the Future of Supermarket Retail
References: retailtimes
Carrefour and Vusion have entered into a strategic partnership to deploy a comprehensive smart store platform across all of Carrefour's hypermarkets and supermarkets in France by 2030.
This initiative, which marks a significant technological upgrade for the retailer, involves equipping shelves with millions of cloud-connected electronic labels, smart rails, and AI-driven cameras that work together to automate tasks such as real-time price updates, product geolocation for e-commerce order preparation, and continuous shelf monitoring to detect out-of-stocks or pricing errors. The technology also frees store employees from low-value tasks, allowing them to focus on assisting customers, which can lead to a more helpful and pleasant in-store environment.
The collaboration with Carrefour builds on Vusion's previous large-scale deployments and establishes a joint innovation lab to explore future retail technologies. Carrefour, on the other hand, will also join Vusion's International Advisory Board to help shape industry standards.
