The Twirla contraceptive patch has been launched by Agile Therapeutics as a new product for women that is focused on ease of use to make it as simple as possible to use. The patch works by being attached onto the skin and will go to work delivering a 30mcg daily dose of ethinyl estradiol as well as a 120-mcg daily dose of levonorgestrel. The patch only needs to be affixed onto the skin once a week and features a noninvasive design that is as comfortable as possible to wear.
Agile Chairman and CEO Al Altomari spoke on the new Twirla contraceptive patch saying, "We are thrilled to launch our first commercial product, Twirla, an effective, modern contraceptive option, for women and their healthcare providers. Family planning experts believe the most successful contraception for a woman is one of her choosing that fits her lifestyle, and we believe Twirla will be a valuable addition to the category’s available options. We are committed to seeking ways to make Twirla affordable and accessible for women.”
