California-based studio Brave Matter creates a contemporary lighting collection that is sleek, minimalist and earthly. With an aesthetic that is informed by modern design, the fixtures and tableware dynamically reference the "materials, archetypes and technologies from the remote past." Brave Matter dubbs its creations the 'Archaic Modern Light Collection.' The silhouettes of the luminous fixtures are fashioned out of ceramic, Himalayan pink salt and brass, while the accompanying stoneware is made with hand-blended glazes of whitish clay, edible kelp, and blackened wood. A point of interest in the contemporary lighting collection is the Himalayan salt, which is used as a material to diffuse the effect of high-lumen LED technology.
