Condom Mobs

How Many Students Can Fit in a Giant Condom? (instead of a Phone Booth)

What may look like an out of control mob of college students piling into a giant condom to a passerby, was actually a planned event to raise funds for AIDS prevention in Africa. The ‘Condom Mob’ idea was submitted as a challenge/bet to fit 100 people inside the condom at the Cesvi website, a non-profit that raises funds for social issues through social networking.

Two condom events were organized, the first one in Milan where 223 people fit into the condom, the second in Genoa where 230 squeezed into the giant condom.

Through the money donated as wagers to the condom challenge, the life of an African child was saved, because Cesvi was able to supply a complete therapy to an HIV positive expectant mother to reduce the risk (almost 100%) of AIDS transmission to her child.
