Mixing style with comfort, Dutch designer Hella Jongerius once again smashes the competition at the Milan Design Week 2014 with her latest line of colorful chairs.
Jongerius continues to collaborate with design giant Vitra with this collection of colorful chairs that are designed with easy relocation in mind -- hence the handle and optional wheels.
The lightweight 'East River Chair' was inspired by a United Nations lounge, which harmoniously balanced form and craftiness. The new collection mimics those efforts by mixing the traditional with the modern.
"In a lounge, which is primarily used as a neutral space for spontaneous meetings, the furnishings play an important role in creating a lively setting," says Jongerius.
The lightweight leather collection is designed in a way to work for public spaces and comes in a variety of color combinations.
