Van Houtte Devised the Perfect Recipe to Bring Its Coffee Scent Everywhere

Van Houtte, a gourmet coffee company that's been around since 1919, recently shared instructions on how to make coffee candles on its website.

The candles are easy to create at home, making it a fun project that can involve the whole family. All that consumers need are: paper cups, dry coffee grounds, soy-based candle wax, wicks, brochette sticks, paper towel, scissors, and a measuring cup that's microwave-safe.

To make the coffee candles, one simply needs to melt the wicks into the wax, and then pour in alternating layers of liquefied candle wax and Van Houtte coffee grounds. Once they're close to the top of the paper cup, the candle is ready to cool and set for about 3 hours. Afterwards, the paper cup can be cut away.
