CNBC's Squawk Alley recently called upon entrepreneurial expert and innovation keynote speaker Jeremy Gutsche to comment on the start-up culture and the rise of billion dollar industries growing rapidly in the span of a few short years. Drawing upon the insights and methodologies featured in his second novel, Better and Faster: The Proven Path to Unstoppable Ideas, Gutsche speaks to how an innovation in one industry, like UBER or Facebook, can create ripples of opportunity in adjacent ones.
According to Gutsche, we're experiencing history's highest change rate causing several start-ups to disrupt traditional industries. One category this is prominent in is social media with apps like Facebook that have ignited a series of divergent apps like Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter. "If you study that splash you could see the patterns of opportunity," says Gutsche. "If I was looking at Snapchat, I would actually look at Facebook."
