Swiss designer Renauld Defrancesco created the CIRCUIT fruit bowl, which reimagines the notion of material and function. It is designed with inspiration from marble runs, transforming a storage vessel into a dynamic display. It comes in two shapes: in an O and S. The fruit bowl is made from oak, maple wood, and cork materials, pushing the creative notion of a traditional fruit bowl.
Oftentimes, the produce is piled onto one another and the CIRCUIT changes this. Instead of sitting in a bowl, each piece of fruit is able to rest individually which not only creates a space for display but also improves air circulation and prolongs freshness over a longer period of time. The thoughtful design also reduces food waste by prolonging its lifespan.
