These images by photographer Christine Muraton are haunting throughout. The French artist works primarily with dark colors, seen in her choice of deep blues, purples and olive greens. A intriguing sense of emotion is further teased out by her captures of open pastures and cloudy skies, giving way to moving scenes and landscapes.

An overwhelming sense of melancholia also stems from Muraton's blurred pictures. In addition to her snapshots of dilapidated bridges, barren rural roads and elongated streams of water, much of her portfolio is characterized by a hazy finish. Images of women with their heads bowed flow into one another, making the final product appear foggy and dreamlike. At the same time, the photography also showcases nude bodies in a clear and distinct manner.
