McDonald's Japan is launching a chocolate hazelnut pie that is more or less an oozy Nutella triangle. The 'Premium Triangle Choco Hazelnut' is a triangular dessert that is described by DesignTaxi as being "pie that is akin to if 'Nutella' and chocolate cronuts had a baby."
The triangular chocolate pie has a flaky chocolate-flavored pastry on the outside, with a rich and gooey chocolate cream on the inside. Hazelnut paste and crunchy nut segments have also been added to elevate the cream filling. The pastry has also been dusted with almond powder. The chocolate hazelnut pie will be available in Japanese McDonald's locations beginning January 24th.
From Nutella riots in France to this new menu offering, the choco-hazelnut flavor is proving addictive worldwide.
