In a massive Chinese Star Wars publicity stunt, a fleet of 500 Stormtroopers marched on the Great Wall of China.
Although they undoubtedly created a menacing image, the army of Stormtroopers was actually composed of 500 pint-sized android mannequins. The Imperial troops were accompanied by Chinese Star Wars ambassadors, who handed out blue and red light sabers to the impressed crowds that gathered to see them.
Star Wars debuted in China for the first time in June of this year, 40 years after its original debut in North America. Now, it seems that Lucasfilm and Disney are pushing to promote the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens film to an Asian audience. It's just one piece of the huge marketing force behind the latest Star Wars episode's release.
