MAAD Creatives Redesigned Chinese Red Packets for Young Audiences

Since money-filled Chinese red packets are quickly emptied and discarded after their gifts have been received on a special occasion, MAAD Creatives set out to remind young audiences of the deep symbolism of the gesture.

Chinese red packets are traditionally given out to bestow good wishes and luck upon the recipient, particularly with the arrival of a new year. To celebrate the coming of this new year as the Year of the Dog, MAAD Creatives selected a dog breed—the Shiba Inu—that will be familiar to many young Internet users who enjoy "Doge" memes.

The collectible Chinese red packets are to be made available to the public exclusively as part of a social media contest that will run just ahead of the Chinese New Year in 2018.
