The chicken parmesan sticks created by Tia Mowry are a finger-friendly food that function as a more sophisticated version of the chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks people are used to consuming.
There are two parts to this recipe – the tomato sauce which is used as a dip, and the chicken parmesan sticks themselves. The former is made from extra virgin olive oil, onions, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper, crushed tomatoes, and tomato paste. The latter is made by dipping sliced chicken breasts in whole wheat flour mixed with onion powder, then eggs, then breadcrumbs with both mozzarella and parmesan, as well as parsley.
The sticks are then baked and pierced with skewers stuck in them, so that they can be enjoyed with the freshly prepared tomato sauce.
