GM Unveils Brand New Chevy Volt Battery Plant

The first battery packs for the new Chevrolet Volt are starting to roll off the assembly line at the Brownstown Township, Michigan plant. This is a major step for GM who will probably pioneer the production of green consumer auto technologies. No other mainstream auto manufacturer in the U.S produces this type of green tech.

The 2011 Volt was unveiled at the last LA Auto Show, and our very own San Diego-based Editor Marissa Brassfield was there to take the sporty plug-in car for a spin. See her review here and catch the video showcasing the first Chevrolet Volt battery pack plant above.
