This cheesy savory oatmeal is a different take on a traditional breakfast. Created by Sarah Menanix from the food blog Snixy Kitchen, the oatmeal recipe is made with shredded gouda cheese and roasted garlic, then topped with crispy new potatoes, pesto and soft boiled eggs. Whether you prefer a more savory morning meal or want to enjoy porridge all day long, this dish can be enjoyed at any time of the day. It can also be made ahead of time.

The gouda oatmeal bowls call for delicious ingredients including minced shallots, olive oil and steel cut as well as old fashioned rolled oats. You can make your own summery pesto at home or use a store-bought variety. The cheesy savory oatmeal is also garnished with sunflower seeds for extra crunch.
