Borden kicked off the holiday season earlier than usual this year, introducing 55 Days of Cheesemas, and a cheese advent calendar to go with it, around Thanksgiving. To support the Let There Be Cheese digital social campaign, Borden worked with carver Paul Dever, won Food Network’s 2019 Outrageous Pumpkins reality contest. The sculpture comes in at over 100 pounds and it has 55 cheese doors, all of which are entirely carved out of cheese.
Creating the cheese advent calendar was a unique challenge, as it required Dever to build a portable cooling room to work with the edible material. Behind the doors of the advent calendar, Borden shares treats, recipes and other fun surprises as it counts down the last few days remaining in the year on social media.
