Exotic Wooden Stamps

Charancreations Renders Beautiful Carved Textiles for DIY Crafts

Charancreations is a Toronto-based, self taught artist. She developed her skill through sheer passion, observing the ins and outs of the fashion world. Charan creates handmade wooden stamps, rendered from the finest textiles. She masterfully chisels teak wood and sustainably harvested brown, hard Indian sheesham wood. Many of her designs have an oriental appeal, featuring Indian designs favoring florals and elephants. Charan also toys with contemporary American designs, such as owls and butterflies. The attention to detail and amount of skill put into each stamp is striking.

The Charancreations Etsy page explains the historic attributes of the Indian wood stamps. Block printing has been used for adornment since the 12th century, using natural dyes derived from plants. Charan's works can be used for a myriad of creations: stamping on paper, wallpapers, henna tattoos, ceramics or handmade soaps.
