'Wheel' is a new social app that allows users to create chains of videos based on the theme of their choosing. Unlike Facebook's 'Riff' app, Wheel is specifically targeted towards Gen Z consumers who are already using video content as a primary means of communication.
Wheel is essentially a social video app that allows users to record short videos centered around different themes. Followers can then contribute to posted content, thereby creating chains of videos for others to watch. To demonstrate what the app is capable of, Wheel CEO Paul Boukadakis contracted popular creators on Vine, YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat to produce original content for the app.
Serving as a hybrid of popular platforms such as Snapchat and Vine, Wheel is likely to appeal to young consumers between the ages of 13 and 21.
