'The Journey' project was designed by Ying Chang and has two separate processes. The first of these is called 'Damaged,' which features a blue vase that is shipped in a metal contraption with spikes sticking out of it. As the vase is shipped, the spikes scratch its surface and create a pattern on the vase that is unique to the journey it was on. 'The Seismometer' is a white vase that is packed into a metal contraption that contains blue pencils that mark up the vase as it is shipped. The resulting blue pattern is also unique to the journey that the vase embarked upon to get to its destination.
This creative ceramic project ensures that owners of these vases each end up with a unique creation that can not be replicated.
