There are carved stools and then there is industrial design student Jari Devad's carved stool. Utterly gorgeous with its organic cuts and dark walnut wood finish, it could easily be considered a functional work of art. Of course, this might deter some people from actually using it. Granted, the carved stool was created as part of the '5 Studies for Nature' project by Nikari, which does make it a special specimen.
Created in Stockholm, Sweden, the carved stool might be the last submission, but it certainly isn't the least. The project came by Stockholm by way of Helsinki, Finland, Guangdong, China, Toronto, Canada, and Milan, Italy. It is a fine example of traditional Swedish wood carving, yet it was impressively created using 3D modeling to mimic the craft.
