These elevated outdoor care retreats embrace the healing powers of nature. Completed by Snøhetta, the two structures were commissioned by the Friluftssykehuset Foundation and are intended to be used by patients of the Oslo University Hospital and the Sørlandet Hospital -- two of Norway's largest hospitals.
The concept behind the two outdoor care retreats is quite tranquil. Not only do patients get away from the tech-immersed and busy environment of today but they also get to "spend time with relatives and friends away from the hospital corridors." Affirming the belief that healing is not only associated with medicine but is also a state of mind, Snøhetta's holistic care retreats will be a testimony of the benefits of uninterrupted nature.
