This carbon fiber canoe demonstrates quite a departure from the tradition-steeped designs of both conventional and contemporary canoes. Appreciating the look of Borromeo & De Silva's modern boat emphasizes its differences, but perhaps more interestingly, it highlights the elements that are so tried and tested as to complete the ideal two-person watercraft.

The narrow shape of the hull is sculpted of carbon and copper composite fiber, giving it strength, durability and also a lightness that is desired of any canoe. A herringbone pattern is creating from the interlocking wooden planks of the bow deck, and the standard gunwales are replaced by lengthy timber handles that make getting in and out of the carbon fiber canoe easy. This streamlined design even provides the perfect place for paddles to be tucked away when the boat is not in use.
