Presented at the Salone Satellite in Milan, this CANVAS seating by YOY transforms traditional art works into useable and practical furniture pieces. What seems like a painted canvas is actually a comfortable chair or sofa seater that allows users to experience artful furniture.
This dynamic seating system comes from designers Naoki Ono and Yuuki Yamamoto from Japanese studio YOY. Inspired by stage props, the duo aimed to replace traditional furnishings with ones that play with perception and serve a dual purpose within a space.
This CANVAS seating by YOY resembles a set of paintings that depict traditionally baroque furniture pieces. This unique product is available in three different models; a chair, armchair and a two-seat sofa that provide comfort while simultaneously adding ornamentation to a bland interior.
