While Withings and Fitbit have dominated the wellness-tracking market with wearable devices that monitor fitness habits, French company Canhegat aims to do the same for pets with its Canh-Fit offering.
The canine fitness tracker is a compact and light-weight gadget that can be conveniently attached to a pet's collar. In addition to monitoring if a pet is getting enough daily exercise, this connected collar accessory goes one step further to track if a dog is being fed a healthy diet. Furthermore, the product acts as a GPS tracking device for lost pets and gives owners piece of mind.
The pendant-like gadget was unveiled at this year's CES 2016 event in Las Vegas and speaks to consumers' appreciation for pets that are considered members of one's family. Each Canh-Fit device is able to make its health-tracking calculations by examining a dog's breed, age and past medical history.
