Amazon Alexa's new Call Santa Skill gives kids a direct line to St. Nick in his North Pole-based workshop. Available to anyone with an Echo Dot Kids Edition, FreeTime on Alexa, or any other compatible Echo and Fire devices, the Call Santa Skill will not require any further activations or downloads.
Once a user initiates the skill, Alexa will respond with several responses such as “What a great idea, I’ll put you through” or “OK, let’s see if we can connect with him.” The actual conversation interchanges between Alexa and Santa are fully scripted and upbeat, and will unfortunately not allow children to actually speak with the rosy-nosed Big Man. The conversation will, however, encompass daily activities at the workshop, daily chores, preparations for Christmas, and much more.
