Although there are images and sometimes videos that accompany an online store's product pages, web shoppers ultimately miss out on the experience of seeing the exact item that they wish to purchase—this is a major issue that keeps many consumers from buying produce online.

While of the pitfalls of ecommerce are being addressed by augmented reality technologies, Walmart is now proposing its own solution with a 3D technology that will allow web shoppers the chance to individually approve pieces of produce for their online order.

The submitted patent from Walmart details that shoppers will be able to see 3D renderings of fresh products before they place an order for delivery or in-store pickup, offering them a better representation of a product as it truly is, rather than a stock photo depiction.
