There is a marsh-like quality to the Busan Camellian Opera House that makes it blend right into its surroundings. This organic aesthetic works to connect the dense urban jungle of Busan, South Korea, with the city's waterfront community. Camouflaged under layers of lush foliage that appear to drip right over the edge of its roofs, this structure is inspired by the camellia flower, which in turn symbolize the citizens of Busan.
Designed by Matteo Cainer Architects, the Busan Camellian Opera House is also to be conceived as a cultural link to the performing arts for people of all ages. Like a blooming flower, it will nourish Busan residents through music and its natural surroundings.
The Busan Camellian Opera House will also be home to restaurants and public spaces.
