Ethereal Spa Designs

Bureau Architects Use a Pastel Color Palette to Transform a Genevan Spa

Bureau, a Swiss-based architecture firm, designed a spa with a head-to-toe pastel aesthetic. Located in Geneva's Saint-Francois neighborhood, this serene spa offers a unique sensory deprivation water therapy. To emulate the spa's signature service, the architects designed the space to create a sensory experience that emulates the unique feeling of floating in water.

The entire space is finished with pastel-colored tiles, shelving units, decorations, and lounge seats. This unique color tone helps create an ethereal experience and encourages patrons to close their eyes and relax in the highly serene space. The muted tone of the spa contrasts the deep blue-toned treatment rooms. The contrast in the color palette was intentionally chosen to help patrons transition out of the sensory-deprived treatment area.
