These Images Highlight the Eerie Beauty in Deserted Spaces
M — September 22, 2015 — Art & Design
Talented artist Christian Richter recently shared his love for deserted spaces with his abandoned building photography series. The illustrations capture the eerie beauty and mystic within spaces that have been left unexpectedly or otherwise.
Richter's series highlight's his fascination with decaying structures. The images capture the encompassing spaces of locations throughout Europe that have been left sometimes still fully furnished but due to old age and time are now slowly rotting away. The images highlight the architectural aesthetic of the rooms with special attention given to staircases or unusual interiors. The images are quite striking capturing baroque grand rooms filled with detailed archways, grand pianos, libraries and the like. The viewer is often left wondering why these stunning spaces were left in the first place.
