Buen Vato Tequila has been announced by distributor AliasSmith as a high-quality spirit that puts premium taste in the spotlight alongside a reduced carbon emissions profile when it comes to packaging.

The spirit itself comes in with a 38% ABV that has been created through a collaboration between Tequila Selecto de Amatitán Distillery and the AliasSmith Swedish-Mexican team. The spirit comes packaged in a cardboard paper bottle that's reported to be five-times lighter than traditional glass bottles to effectively reduce carbon emissions by 84% to give the product a sustainability edge over the competition.

Head of Tequila Selecto de Amatitán Distillery Fernando Real commented on the Buen Vato Tequila saying, "Collaborating on sustainability has improved production efficiency and boosted employee satisfaction. We never imagined this project would lead to the world’s first paper-bottle Tequila, but it’s a milestone we’re incredibly proud of.”
