Absolut Vodka is setting a precedent for the future of sustainable spirits as the first global spirits brand to sell single-mold paper-based bottles commercially in the UK. The brand is now starting a three-month test for its innovative sports bottle, which will be sold in the British supermarket chain Tesco. This test will determine how well the paper-based bottles can be transported, as well as how consumers perceive the 500ml-sized paper bottles, which are lighter than their glass counterparts.

Ultimately, the brand is on a mission to create a fully bio-based bottle and reduce its CO2 emissions. This paper bottle is part of a larger collaboration with Paboco (the Paper Bottle Company) and other global brands that are collectively working to make packing more environmentally friendly.
