Mesmerizing Bubble Machines

Nicholas Hanna Creates Makeshift Contraption Full of Childlike Wonder

Nicholas Hanna, an artist and designer based in Montreal, Canada, has built a bubble machine that will transport people back to their childhood. Although it is like nothing from people's past, unless someone had an inventive father who made a similar contraption, the bubble machine will inspire childlike wonder in anyone who watches it.

Utterly mesmerizing, the bubble machine essentially creates big soapy bubbles out of thin air. Sparsely constructed out of wood and string, which is placed in front of a classic and cheap table fan, the mechanical portion of the bubble machine kicks in to dip the string in a tub of soapy water so as to make the bubbles actually appear. This is a show that anyone can sit in front of and spend an afternoon watching nonstop.
