This Breathable Barrier Immediately Filters Pollution from Cars

Existing highways allow vehicular emissions to simply enter the atmosphere immediately after they are released, so this conceptual breathable barrier identifies what can be done to change this. The living wall is integrated with green moss that will filter the air, absorb emissions, capture particles and add a touch of naturalistic beauty to otherwise boring roadways. This could help to stave off the effects of our gas-burning vehicles as we slowly switch from internal combustion engine cars to electric alternatives.
The conceptual breathable barrier is the design work of Hsuan Ting Huang and Tsung Ying Hsieh, and is the winner of the Red Dot Design Concept Award for 2018. The barrier would also help to limit noise pollution for surrounding areas and add a touch of greenery to concrete environments for a naturalistic touch.
