ARM & HAMMER Turns Baking Soda into Hands-On Science Learning

ARM & HAMMER is expanding branded STEAM experiences through its third annual Baking Soda Rocket Day on October 8. The nationwide program uses baking soda and other household materials to help students build and launch bottle rockets while exploring scientific concepts. Flagship events in Chicago and Houston add career-focused learning through appearances from aerospace engineer Emily Calandrelli, retired astronaut Michael Baker, and LEGOLAND professionals. Students can also create artwork for Club for the Future’s Message to the Stars campaign, which will travel aboard a future Blue Origin New Glenn mission.

The program gives ARM & HAMMER a way to connect its familiar baking soda product with education and hands-on experimentation. Classroom resources extend participation beyond the flagship events, helping the campaign reach students nationwide. Having already engaged more than 200,000 students since 2024, the annual format can deepen the brand’s presence with families, educators, and young learners.
